Fletcher Carpentry & Maintenance was founded by Stephen Arrowsmith — and the name carries a story worth knowing.
Historically, an Arrowsmith was the craftsman who forged the arrowheads, while a Fletcher was the skilled tradesman who crafted and assembled the entire arrow. The name Fletcher originates from the Old French word fleche, meaning "arrow," and was the occupational title given to the makers and sellers of arrows.
The name reflects everything we stand for: craftsmanship, precision, traditional trade skills, and pride in workmanship. Building things properly, using experience and attention to detail — values that underpin every job we do today.
Stephen brings over 25 years of hands-on carpentry experience to every project. He holds a Certificate III in Carpentry and is a proud member of the Master Builders Association of WA.

Do you supply materials or is it labour only?
Both options are available. We can supply all materials at trade pricing, or work with materials you've sourced yourself. We'll advise on the best approach for your project.
How long will my project take to start?
We typically commence projects within 2–4 weeks of an accepted quote. We'll give you a clear start date so you can plan accordingly.
Can you help with design and recommend the best solution?
Absolutely. With 25+ years of experience, we can advise on materials, design options, and practical solutions that suit your home, your lifestyle and your budget.
